I have been asked to again print OFFENDING and SAFE FOODS, for Sulfite Sensitive People. Please take into consideration that most of these foods have preservative or nitrates also, and they could be bothering you too…Hope this helps

BAKED GOODS: Breads, cookies, crackers, pie, pizza or quicke crust; flour tortillas; mixes with dried fruits or vegetables

BEVERAGES: Wine;Wine collers; beer; cocktail mixes; dried citrus fruit beverage mixes; instant tea; soda

CONDIMENTS & RELISHES: Horseradish; relishes; pickles; olives; salad dressings; salad dressing mixes; wine vinegar (including balsamic vinegar), white vinegar, Mustard

DAIRY & NON-DAIRY: Filled milk; non-diary creamers; sour screm; yogurt (plain yogurt is fine); Mayonnaise

FRESH FRUITS & VEGETABLES: Sulfite use banned in U.S. (except for prepared raw potatoes—for example, frozen french fries or hash browns); grapes (spray) .

I PERSONALLY ONLY CAN EAT THE FOLLOWING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES: Apples,Bananas, Pineapple,Mango,Kiwi, Cantaloupe, and an occasional orange, AND ONLY 4 BITES OF WATERMELON at a time or else I get a reaction. Vegetables are carrots,celery,sweet potato,yellow squash, zucchini, spaghetti squash, and butternut squash,I also make fresh pesto with basil from the garden and Greek Seasoning.

GELATINS: Puddings & Fillings; Fruit fillings; Gelatin

GRAIN PRODUCTS AND PASTA: Cornstarch; Modified food starch; spinach pasta; gravies; hominy; breadings; batters; noodle mixes; rice mixes; microwave popcorn
(I can Only Eat Brown Rice and Brown Rice Pastas, Lundberg Brand)


MEATS: Bacon, ham, sausage, hot dogs

NUTS & NUT PRODUCTS: Shredded Coconut

PROCESSED FRUITS: Canned, bottled or frozen fruit juices; dried fruit; marashchino cherries; glazed fruit

PROCESSED VEGETABLES: Vegetable juice; canned vegetabes (including garbonzo beans); pickled vegetables (incuing sauerkraut); dried vegetables; instant mashed potatoes; frozen potatoes; potato salad; Tomatoes (dried, sun dried, dehydrated, canned, frozen or paste/pulp/puree)

SEAFOOD: Canned clams; fresh/frozen/canned/dried shrimp; frozen lobster; scallops; dried cod

SNACK FOODS: Dried fruit snacks; trail mixes

SOUPS: Canned soups; dried soup mixes

SWEET TOPPINGS: Corn syrup; high fructose corn syrup; maple syrup; pancake syrup; fruit toppings; molassas; sugar (made from beets)

Natural Occuring High Sulfites
• Soy
• Cheese ( I can use a little Caso Fresco in omelets)
• Coconut
• Peanuts (I eat pumpkin seeds)
• Eggs (they are high in sulfur,which the body converts to sulfites then sulfates. Some people can tolerate eggs, others not so much.)
• Maple syrup
• Molasses
• Black tea
• Black pepper(I use minimal black pepper with no problem and Diamond Brand Kosher Salt only)
• Sugar (made from beets; cane sugar is fine)
• Grapes
• Vinegar
• Broccoli
• Cabbage
• Cauliflower
• Kale
• Radish
• Turnip
• Jerusalem artichokes (sun-chokes) I eat the Big artichokes with no problem, but no Jerusalem)
• Canola oil ( I use only Sesame Oil)
• Asparagus
• Chives
• Leeks
• Onions
• Garlic
• Shrimps ( For me it is all fish except Salmon in small portions)
• Strawberries
